Shaun Welch Co-Founder

Since 1999, my life has revolved around the marine industry. Starting as an engineer in the Royal Navy and later transitioning to the yachting sector, where I assumed roles as a project manager for yacht projects, I have navigated both the high seas and complex tasks with precision. Returning to civilian life in the UK, I encountered frustrations with bureaucratic inefficiencies in Europe and observed the legal uncertainties within the maritime industry. Moving to Portugal brought significant personal and professional advantages, including the ability to legally work and travel throughout Europe, alongside benefiting from Portugal’s attractive financial incentives, leading to a more relaxed lifestyle. Through these experiences, I recognized an opportunity to assist employees and employers. Inspired by Portugal’s supportive business environment, I co-founded Sea Senso, a streamlined solution for working in Europe. Beyond my professional endeavors, I cherish outdoor adventures with my four young daughters, maintain fitness through various sports, and indulge my passion for motorsport. For me, every challenge represents a chance waiting to be seized.

Sam Thompson Co-Founder

Having been involved in the Maritime industry both at sea, in my early years where I ended up with the old fashioned ClassIV <3000 grt, to now as Co-owner of a leading Yacht Management , Recruitment and Newbuild company. I realised very early on what Shaun and I could bring to benefit the industry and solve one of the leading problems in the Newbuild and Refit sectors. With my deep understanding of the recruitment sector coupled with the Maritime new build sector from a commercial standpoint, I felt my partnership with Shaun married perfectly, that and the fact he married the babysitter to my children before she entered into Yachting so he must be a good person !
